How do I use the secret law of attraction when I can’t stop thinking about what I don’t want?

I’m trying to use The Secret Law of Attraction to change some things like my job, my living arrangements and my income, but I have a hard time staying focused on what I want all the time. Anybody have any techniques they use?
Teachers of the secret law of attraction and goal setting have used “vision boards” for a long time. On a poster board paste magazine cutouts, photos, or other images of the things you want, and then every day look at the board and think about having those things already. Or put those same image into a “manifestation box”. There are a lot of new digital visualization tools available to do essentially the same thing, but in a multimedia format. You can find a bunch of them at http://www.lawofattractiontoolsite.com.

There is no secret law of attraction. So stop relying on it to change your life, and make the changes yourself.

print out some pictures that represent the things and lifestyle that you want… make a poster and put it up some place where you’ll see it often.

    it helps a LOT.

I know what you’re talking about. I once tried but my closest approach was to leave my mind in blank. I could never get to think positively all the time or focusing on good comings.

I agree with answer number one and would like to add that if you really want something you would stay focused.

Create pictures for yourself. Make a "wish" book with pictures of what you want.

Make a "road map" that shows you following the path to what you want.

Do whatever you need to do to feel like you are in contact with what you want. If it is a new house, actually go see a house like the one you want. If it is a new job, spend time writing a note to yourself describing the job you want.

Put up signs around your house, and on your desk that remind you of the things you want. If you can, put reminders of what you want everywhere you are, and remind yourself that it is on the way.

That’s the most important thing, remind yourself that the job, house, life that you want is already out there, it just has to find its way to you. And because you know it is what you want, it is only a matter of time until it finds you.

Remember, it is on its way to find you.

Like attracts like is supposed to be a Universal Law. But opposites attract in the case of magnetism. Therefore the Law of Attraction is not a Universal law but a circumstantial effect. The alchemists say you can create gold from lead as long as you do not think of the word ‘rhinoceros’ as you perform the ritual. Well, of course you can’t.

Negative thoughts will always creep into a manifestation. The Law of Attraction advocates use this as an excuse for the ‘law’ not working most of the time then offer to sell you their solution.

But here is a technique for meditative concentration: Let us say the object of focus is a cat. Think of all the cats you have ever encountered. If a thought creeps in that is not of cats gently push it aside and return to a thought of cats. Let the mind be fascinated with the thought of cats and anything associated with cats. Stay focused like that for as long or as little as you like.

Look very closely at what you want. Look at the baggage it carries, the implications for other changes in your life, all the bits and pieces that it includes.

Do you want it, even with all that? Are you sure?

Try re-defining what you want. Maybe there is a catch that your instincts are having a problem with. Or, maybe you feel you do not deserve the goal.

Define your goal in words, with dates, amounts, specifics. Do not say HOW it will happen. Just WHAT you want. Then you can release it.

You can not be "focused" on what you want "all" of the time. It wouldn’t even be good to do so.

What I find that works best, and I do this while I am lying down getting ready to go to sleep. Think about what it is that you want.

You don’t have to think about the details of how you will get it, but think about how it will feel to have it.

For instance… if your dream is a new car… close your eyes and picture yourself sitting in the drivers seat.
What does it feel like to be sitting there. Are the seats cushy? or leather?

Take it for a drive. If it’s a convertible, feel the wind blowing against your skin as you drive along.

Does it have that new car smell?

Try to engage ALL of your senses, and feel the joy you would feel to have your desire.

This is what I have found to work the best and the fastest.

When I was new with the Law of Attraction and I learned that "thoughts create things" I went bonkers with fear and worry.

(If you could have seen my thoughts you would have, too.) :)

But then I learned that you don’t have to think positive thoughts all the time. You just have to think them a teeny bit more often than not. Like 51% of the time will start you tipping in the direction you want to go.

The way you can do this is get up in the morning and dedicate 15-20 minutes doing your favorite Law of Attraction tool at the time.

Then go about your day and let yourself fret away. When you do fret say "I’m fretting, so what?"

And then do your 15-20 minutes the next day in the morning and then when you worry say "I’m worrying, so what?"

If you stop pushing against the thoughts you don’t want and you think just a wee bit more on what you do want then naturally it all comes into place.

That is what helped me when I was really new at Law of Attraction.

But I totally had a "oops" recently where I couldn’t stop thinking about something I didn’t want! Then I started to manifest it!

I wrote a story about it here: Hope it helps! :) http://www.law-of-attraction-breakthrough.com/law-of-attraction-tools-thread-example.html
