Ask and It Is Given by Jerry and Ester Hicks
One great book that should be on the shelves of anyone who wants to manifest what they want in life is Ask and It Is Given by Jerry and Ester Hicks. Even before the controversial The Secret was out, the discussion on how to attract your desires, Ask and It Is Given by Jerry and Ester Hicks has been long residing in bookstores all over the world. The authors were also included in the original version of “The Secret“. But, what makes this book unique, compared to most how-to-manifest books is that this one is filled with a number of specific processes that give you ideas on how to start attracting what you want in life.
A note-worthy issue in Ask and It Is Given by Jerry and Ester Hicks that may put the reader off is where the messages come from – a certain being called “Abraham”. Channeled through Esther, Abraham represents a group, a nonphysical entity, is telling you how to bring joy into your life. As a reader, the concept of “Abraham” may be a bit distracting, but the message that it tries to put across is very important.
An example of one of the processes mentioned in the book is the “Virtual Reality” exercise. How does it work? First, you start out by imagining what it is that you really want in life. Then, imagine yourself there. What does it feel like? Who or what is around you? How are you interacting with them? Feel yourself there and, most importantly, feel good about where you are at. Focus on your Virtual Reality for 30 seconds. Then, finish your imagining but take an important note about the good feeling after.
The book Ask and It Is Given by Jerry and Ester Hicks puts great emphasis that you focus on feeling good. Being in such state attracts more “feeling good” experiences. One of the things that hold us back is the way how we are stating our own desires. We should all focus on the things that we want, and not those on what we do not want. You have to “phrase” your desires correctly. Saying “I do not want to be in debt”, “I do not want to be sick”, “I do not want to have this lousy job” is phrasing your desire wrong. Remember, the focus should be on what you want. Saying “I want to be financially free”, “I want to be healthy” is the appropriate way of attracting good vibes. Because when we are focusing on what we do not want, we are still thinking about our debt, illness, etc. and not feeling good. Thus the more we attract more of the “not feeling good” experiences and more of that will remain in our lives.
